A 42-YEAR-OLD dad from Wellington is preparing to tackle the Bath Half-Marathon in aid of children’s charity CLIC Sargent.

Stephen Lee, who works at Swallowfield in the town, will take on the 13.1-mile course this Sunday.

He said: “After seeing some of my friends die over the years from cancer and other diseases I thought it would be nice to give something back to help children with cancer.”

Mr Lee has done two runs for charity previously, including the 2011 Torquay Half-Marathon for Selworthy Special School in Taunton.

He also completed the Wellington Monument run in 2007 in aid of the Waterloo Road playgroup in the town.

Mr Lee added: “I got into running in 2007. This will be my fifth half-marathon and I think I’m ready for it.

“The bad weather stopped me going out for a bit but I’ve managed to catch up.”
