TENANTS of social landlords are being invited to attend an event to find out how to move to a smaller home and the options available.
Mid Devon District Council is hosting an event for any tenants of social landlords on Thursday, February 28, at Tiverton Town Hall.
Tenants are invited to drop in anytime between 2pm and 7pm when housing staff will be on hand to answer questions.
Staff from various sections of the housing service will be available, including representatives from housing needs, the neighbourhood teams and the repairs service. Visitors will also be able to find out about the downsizing cash incentive scheme and if they want to move, there will be advice on how to go about it.
Guidance will be available on how to register with Devon Home Choice, where council and housing association homes available to rent are advertised. Sandra Hunt, tenant involvement manager for MDDC, said “This is a great opportunity for tenants to pop in to find out everything they need to know about moving, either now or in the future. “Staff from all sections of the Housing service will be available to answer any questions tenants may have and they can come along at a time that suits them during the afternoon and early evening.”
