Man seriously injured in Torquay crash

A man has been left seriously injured after a road traffic collision in the Shiphay area of Torquay in the early hours of Saturday.

Emergency services attended Hamelin Way following a report of single vehicle road traffic collision at around 5am.

The male driver of a Ford Focus saloon was taken to Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, with serious injuries. No other persons or vehicles are believed to be involved in the incident.

Road closures were put in place between the roundabouts at Kerswell Gardens and Gallows Gate.
