A man from Torquay has been charged with possession of a smoke grenade after he was stopped attempting to enter a football match.
The eighteen year old was arrested after he was found to be in possession of the device at about 7.50 pm, as he tried to enter Plainmoor at the Torquay United v Exeter City match on Tuesday, January 15.
He was detained at Torquay Custody Centre before being charged with the offence under the Sporting Events Act 1985.
He has been bailed to appear before South and West Devon Magistrates Court on January 31.
