A Playmouth teenager whad to be rushed to hospital for surgery after being stabbed in the chest in the Mount Wise area of Plymouth.

Police are investigating the incident toutside the Co-op convenience store at the junction between George Street and Ker Street in the Mount Wise area of Plymouth, shortly after 8 pm on Saturday, 5January 5.

A police spokesman said that an altercation took place with around five people involved and a teenager, aged 17, suffered a stab wound to the chest.

Adding that the victim was taken to hospital and later underwent surgery.

He said: “There would have been a number of people in the area around the time of the incident, entering and leaving the shop. We’d like to appeal to anyone who may have seen something to contact us.”

Three men, two aged 22 and one aged 21, were arrested and released on police bail until March 26, while police carry out further enquiries.
