Totnes ram raid: Police appeal for public's help

First published in Devon

Police investigating the Christmas Day burglary at Bridgetown Post Office, Totnes, are appealing for information about a wooden post that was left at the scene.

The post was marked Torbay Totnes Trail, John Musgrave Trail, and County Road, Devon County Council. Officers hope that someone who regularly walks the trail may be able to pinpoint where the sign was taken from.

A 4x4 vehicle was used to smash a window in the premises and the suspects made off in a Subaru. The Subaru later crashed on the A381 and one of the occupants, a 25 year old man was arrested.

He has since been interviewed and is currently on police bail until March 2013.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with any information about the burglary at the post office, the stolen Subaru or information about where the wooden post has been taken from.

If you have any information call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 quoting crime reference JS/12/1347.
