MORE flooding is feared as heavy rains are forecast to sweep across the region over the next few days.
The Met Ofice has issued severe weather warnings for the whole of the south west, with the deluge expected to begin tonight (Wednesday, December 19).
A statement on the Met Office website website reads: "Periods of heavy rain are expected to affect the Sout West and parts of central southern England during Wednesday evening and at times well into Thursday. "This additional rainfall, following the recent wet weather, means that the public should be prepared for an increased risk of both surface water and river flooding."
A brief respite is expected on Friday before a second band of even heavier rain and strong southerly winds is thought to batter the region on Saturday.
