Plymouth man charged with robbery

A 32-year-old Plymouth man has been charged charged with robbery and an attempted robbery of two convenience stores.
Damien John Janes was arrested in Sawrey Street, Stonehouse on Friday, December 7 following the robbery at the Spar shop, West Hoe on Wednesday, December 5.
A police spokesman said he was detained at Charles Cross police station where he was interviewed before being charged with that robbery in addition to an attempted robbery at a corner shop in North Hill, Mutley at lunchtime that Friday.
He was further charged with theft of a knife and two assaults by beating.
