Cycle path proposals for Mid Devon

CAMPAIGNERS turned out in force to hear county councillors’ plans for a cycle path from Exeter to Crediton and Tiverton.

Mark Bailey, development worker, said a cycle path along the River Exe would be a pleasure for cyclists to avoid the A396.

Cllr Des Hannon, Tiverton East, said the route from Credi-ton to Exeter should be prioritised over the route to Tiverton as it would be less expensive to build and would be well used.

A feasibility study for the route has been carried out and the route is in the second stage of potential projects from 2015 to 2017, for which funding had not yet been identified.

The Green Party presented a petition with nearly 50 signatures supporting the path.
