Planes, trains and automobiles day to support Cornwall Air Ambulance
7:00am Tuesday 23rd October 2012 in Cornwall
Big boys toys is the name of the game this weekend as on Sunday, October 28, Cornwall Air Ambulance hosts "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" at Newquay Airport.
Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust projects co-ordinator, Nicole Hawkesford said “If you’ve ever fancied driving an HGV or flying a plane, well a flight simulator, then this will be the event for you.
“There will also be a World War II display thanks to the WWII Military Vehicle Trust along with demonstrations by the emergency services, so plenty of men in uniform for the ladies.”
And if men and machines aren’t your cup of tea there will be plenty of other activities, including Zorbing, a bouncy castle for the kids and an undercover vintage and craft market.
“For the more adventurous,” adds Nicole, “Fly Cornwall will be running scenic flight tours, with donations for the charity.”
Paula Martin, chief executive for the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust said: “This will be one of our more adventurous events and wouldn’t be possible without the generous support from everyone involved.
“The Cornwall Air Ambulance costs £2million per year to operate, so events like this one provide us with vital funds to keep the Air Ambulance flying and saving lives in Cornwall.
“The people of Cornwall are so generous and we have managed to keep going for 25 years now, through thick and thin."
