Bomb disposal squad sent to Kennack Sands
Bomb disposal experts are now on their way to Kennack Sands following reports of a second suspicious device.
The news comes less than an hour after the officers were in Truro dealing with a ‘suspicious package’ that turned out to be a lunchbox with a camera inside.
The call to Kennack Sands was actually received by police just after 10am, but the Truro incident was prioritised.
After being stood down in the city the experts are making their way to Kennack, escorted by two polices cars.
A police spokesperson said a green device measuring 12in in length and 8in in diameter was found between a building site and camp site.
The area has been cordoned off until it can be dealt with.
It is thought to be some form of smoke bomb or flare.
The bomb disposal team are likely to dispose of the device in a controlled explosion.
