RAF diver rescued by colleagues

An RAF diver had to be rescued by his military colleagues from RNAS Culdrose after getting stuck in the water at Porthkerris near St Keverne on Sunday.
The diver was found clinging to a crab pot marker, after swimming out to secure his RIB and finding he could not get back to shore.
Weather conditions were poor, with heavy rain and rough seas, with one eyewitness describing the waves as being 20ft tall.
A Rescue was co-ordinated by Falmouth Coastguard Station, involving Porthoustock Cliff Rescue Team, Falmouth lifeboats and the 193 search and rescue helicopter from RNAS Culdrose.
He was picked up by the helicopter and flown back to the beach.
The call had come in from the ambulance control room just after 12.50pm.
Roger Mason from Falmouth Coastguards said the diver had been wearing appropriate clothing in the form of a dry suit. No medical help was needed.
