Arts and crafts giant to open new store in Truro

Arts and crafts superstore giant Hobbycraft is opening a new store in Truro next month, creating 21 jobs.

To celebrate the opening the Truro Rainbow and Brownies group will declare the store officially open at 9am on Saturday October 20.

This marks the beginning of a celebration weekend featuring balloon displays, a giant paint-by-numbers, free face painting and make and play sessions for children. The first 100 customers through the doors will also receive a free gift.

Hobbycraft caters for more than 250 activities and stocks over 30,000 different products, with support for beginners who want help getting started in everything from candle making to sewing.

New store manager, Angela Fowler, said: "We can’t wait to open our doors in Truro, a town rich in community spirit and creativity.

"The people I’ve met out and about are thrilled about Hobbycraft opening and will have something to offer everyone from home crafts and jewellery making, to kids ‘make and take’ sessions and art essentials."
