Fisherman's Apprentice Monty Hall to open Grade Ruan Show
After spending many months filming in Cadgwith, Fisherman’s Apprentice star Monty Halls is returning to the area as guest of honour at this year’s Grade Ruan Horticultural Society Autumn Show .
Monty will officially open the event at 3pm on Saturday, October 13.
Visitors to the show will also be able to admire the award winning vegetables, flowers, art and produce on display at Ruan Minor Village Hall.
Food, gardening and art lovers of all ages are now invited to showcase their talents and be in with a chance of winning cash prizes and trophies at this year’s show.
Schedules of all the different classes can be picked up for free from Ruan Minor Spar, Mullion Post Office and Lizard Butchers.
Among the classes is a scarecrow making competition, where entrants can depict their favourite characters from the Fisherman’s Apprentice, while children are challenged to seek out the longest dock leaf.
Entries must be submitted by 6pm on Friday, October 12 although late entries can be taken in the hall before 9am on the morning of the show. Doors opens to the public at 2.30pm, with the show officially opened at 3pm.
Entrance to the show is 50p for adults and free entry for children aged 16 and under.
There will also be a raffle and homemade cakes and refreshments to enjoy.
