Autism charity Spectrum has restored a former Redruth mother and baby home, and converted it into a new residential home for people with the condition.

Mary Simpson, CEO of autism charity Spectrum, said she was delighted to announce the opening of their newest residential home, called Silverdale.

The house, which sits in an area of English Mining Heritage has been renovated by Spectrum to "its former glory to create high quality, bespoke accommodation for four individuals with autism".

Spectrum invited local businesses and neighbours to view the house before residents moved in.

House manager Kimberley Pearce said, “The staff are really excited to be involved in the new project and are looking forward to the other flats becoming occupied and the different opportunities this may bring”.
