New graduates start at Truro accountancy firm
12:00pm Sunday 2nd September 2012 in Cornwall
Two new graduates have embarked upon careers in accountancy by joining Robinson Reed Layton.
Amalia Watson from Truthwall near St Just and Alex Reed from Truro are now trainee chartered accountants at the firm.
Amalia graduated from the University of York with a degree in music while Alex secured his degree in mathematics at Bristol University. Both are pleased with their new roles.
Amalia says, “I am excited about beginning my career in accountancy with Robinson Reed Layton. It’s such a reputable firm with roots in Cornwall. I’m looking forward to passing my exams!”
It’s the size of the firm that particularly appeals to Alex.
“The business is large enough to have a broad range of clients which will help me to develop business acumen, yet is not too vast that I will get lost in the system. I look forward to dealing with clients on a personal level and really getting involved in understanding their businesses, as well as passing my Chartered Accountancy exams.”
Partner Nick Skerratt is confident that the pair will excel. He said: “Amalia and Alex both have intelligence and enthusiasm. It will be very rewarding to train them and see them flourish.”
