Truro's got Talent raises funds for neo-natal unit

7:00am Monday 6th August 2012

A donation of £650 has been made to the Royal Cornwall Hospital’s Neonatal unit thanks to a Truro’s Got Talent contest which took place in the city in June.

The event was organised by Lucy Norman with help from Dani Godden and Matt Noble, Truro Baptist Church minister.

The event took place at Truro Baptist Church and was open to children. Josh Conway (jazz piano) and Elliott Ambrose (Michael Jackson dance impersonator) were the eventual winners.

Dani said: “The idea to raise money came from Lucy, who had known several people who had had babies in the unit and we felt it was a good cause to raise money for.”

The £650 was raised through donations and an auction on the evening.

Julie Major, Neonatal Unit Matron, said: “We are so grateful for all donations to neonatal funds. Our next purchase is likely to be hot cots so some of this money will be used for that. Thank you for all your efforts.”
