A Redruth hotel is cooking up a ‘pink’ themed evening to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The Penventon Hotel is teaming up with Redruth breast cancer survivor Brenda Pedley to turn the hotel pink on Saturday 15th October to raise money for the charity’s breast cancer awareness and fundraising campaign, ‘Join the fight for women’s survival’ .

Brenda was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001 and is now enjoying a life free from the disease.

Her cancer was caught very early on during her first routine mammogram, testament that early diagnosis is essential.

Brenda, who is helping organise the event, said: “This is great way to celebrate 10 years since my diagnosis”.

Since then she has raised nearly £80,000 for Cancer Research UK. She added: “Hopefully with the Penventon Hotel hosting this pink themed evening we can increase awareness and encourage others help raise even more money.

“We want people to book dinner at the Penventon Hotel and do their bit as they ‘Join the fight for women’s survival’.

The Penventon’s brigade of chefs will be preparing a specially themed ‘Pink’ menu - with a donation of £5 made by the hotel directly to Cancer Research UK for every person dining from the menu.

The hotel’s friends from the Polgoon Vineyard in Penzance will be providing Pink Bubbly - for an invited donation. Again, the donation going directly to Cancer Research UK.

With places limited, and demand already high, please contact the hotel on 01209 203000 to book your table as soon as possible, stating you wish to dine from the charity menu.
