Themes from The Simpsons, Star Wars and Thunderbirds will feature in a special organ recital at Truro Cathedral this weekend.

The concert is the first in the building's annual series of recitals, and will begin at 7.30pm.

There will be a big screen linked to several cameras so the audience can see the organ's four keyboards and both players throughout.

The Organ Extravaganza will feature the Cathedral's organists, Christopher Gray and Luke Bond, playing a programme that will appeal to a wide variety of ages and musical tastes.

As well as the duets, there will be a chance to hear favourites such as Widor's Toccata and Walton's Crown Imperial as well as lighter items such as Nigel Odgen's Penguins' Playtime.

Christopher Gray said: “After months of planning, we have put together an ambitious programme of highly accessible and great fun music for organ, some of which requires two players. There will be a complimentary glass of wine from 7pm before the 7.30pm concert which will last an hour.”

Tickets are £7 on the door (under-18s free) with drinks and nibbles served at 7.00pm and the recital starting at 7.30pm.
