A sex shop has been given the go-ahead to open in Truro, next door to a store that sells school uniforms.

Mrs Palm Ltd has been granted a license to open the shop in Little Castle Street, next door to Trevails that has a regular flow of children as young as primary age buying uniforms in their upstairs department.

Some storeowners and residents launched a petition in a bid to fight the application, but Cornwall Council's miscellaneous licenses committee granted permission at a meeting last Friday.
