Newquay airport has denied claims that security was breached when a man walked onto the "airside" tarmac without being challenged.
The airport has "fully rejected" what they said was a cliam that the man managed to pass through security within the airport terminal and out onto the airside tarmac without being challenged by any member of the airport staff on Wednesday, August 11.
The claim first surfaced when a man called a local radio show.
A spokesman said: "The airport would like to confirm that an internal investigation has been undertaken. The investigation has concluded that at no point during this suggested breach has the security or safety of passengers been put at risk and the claim is fully rejected."
They added that the person has been invited to the airport to meet with the airports operations manager and to discuss the individual's "actual" journey through the terminal and to review the CCTV footage.
The spokesman added that the airport is "fully compliant" with the Aviation and Maritime Security Act 1982 and works to ensure that this is maintained at all times.
