Truro College has been celebrating the achievements of some of its youngest learners at their Increased Flexibility Programme presentation evening.
The Increased Flexibility Programme gives students the opportunity to follow a vocational course at the college alongside their school curriculum. Students from eight local schools have completed a two-year programme of study at the college. The schools involved in the programme are: Richard Lander, Penair, Pencalenick, Roseland, Falmouth, Penryn College, Treviglas and Newquay Tretherras.
Cheryl Mewton, the director of studies at Truro College, presented students with their certificates. Students, parents and representatives from the schools along with college staff joined together to celebrate the achievements.
The students gained qualifications at a range of levels in various vocational areas including catering, hairdressing, beauty, motor vehicles, public services, sport, horticulture and music technology.
Gill Dyer, IFP co-ordinator said: "The evening was a tremendous success. It allowed the outstanding achievements of all the students to be recognised."
The programme has been running since 2002 and a new cohort will be starting in September.
