9:15am Tuesday 1st June 2010 in Cornwall By Emma Goodfellow
A car driver remains in hospital today after a head on collision at Grampound.
A red Suzuki Swift and a silver Nissan Micra crashed in Fore Street at around 12.30am on Sunday.
The man driving the Micra was trapped in his car and had to be rescued by two fire crews, along with three ambulance crews.
Both drivers, who are both from the area, were taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro in an ambulance.
The Micra driver has since been released from hospital, but the driver of the Suzuki Swift remains there after suffering “serious” injuries according to police.
The road was closed for six hours while police carried out an investigation at the crash site.
Police from Camborne Traffic Unit now want to speak to anyone who saw or heard the collision, asking them to call 08452 777444, ref 36/30/05/10.
The investigating officer, MPC Etchells, is particularly keen to hear from anyone who might have seen a red Suzuki Swift in or around the Grampound area during the evening of Saturday, May 29 before the collision.
