Work on the £20 million Health Park in Truro is well underway with much of the external construction is complete.

The development is due to open in summer 2010.

Truro Health Park will be the new home to both of the GP practices on Lemon Street and the PCT services currently located in and around the Truro area.

Located on part of the former City Hospital site, the Health Park will bring together health services in one location in a new modern facility.

The proposed services to be delivered from the Health Park include GP practices, minor procedures, podiatry, pharmacy, health promotion, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy and dental services.

The facility will include access for those using public transport.

Rod Hulme, Director of Community 1st Cornwall, said "It's very exciting to see the development at this advanced stage and to know that by the summer of next year the Health Park will be fully operational and delivering high quality services to the people of Truro."

The new Health Park will also be home to a number of art installations, both internal and external, which have been developed through a series of workshops and events involving the local community and staff.
