There was chaos on the roads last night as both the main roads into the county were forced to close due to a vehicle pile up and flooding causing a landslide.
The crash involved seven vehicles and blocked the A30 at Temple, while flooding and a landslide closed the A38 near Bodmin. There were two minor injuries.
A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said heavy rain had also caused flooding around Lostwithiel.
The fire brigade has reported “numerous cases of flooding” in the St Blazey and Par area.
Further rain is expected today, but not as heavy as yesterday. The weather is then expected to become drier later on, heading into the weekend.
