The work on the refurbishment of the Mawgan Recreation Hall to begin soon.
Over £40,000 has been raised to pay for the refit and will be spent on toilet facilities and showers, a new and enlarged kitchen and improved security.
Building work is due to begin on Monday to take advantage of the summer holiday, when the hall will be in less use.
A project planned for a later date will see electricity-generating solar panels put on the roof of the hall.
This will help the hall become entirely self-sufficient, and it is hoped that the panels may even generate enough surplus power to be sold back to the National grid.
The whole project will hopefully be completed early next year.
