A cat from Newquay has made national headlines after appearing on the set of Question Time.
Tango the tomcat had the purr-fect excuse to be there however – he had merely wandered over from his home next door to Treviglas Community College, where the BBC1 political programme was being filmed.
He trotted under the table where host David Dimbleby was chairing a discussion with a panel of guests including Falmouth and Camborne MP Julia Goldsworthy.
After making his TV debut in front of a delighted audience, he mooched back home, leaving his owner Jackie Ellery none the wiser until her friend rang her up in great excitement.
Mrs Ellery, who happens to work as a dinner lady at the college, had missed her puss’s appearance on the programme but when her friend rang to say Tango had been spotted she span back on Sky+ and confirmed that it was indeed her fantastic feline.
