Truro’s Sainsbury’s supermarket was forced to close earlier this morning after it was struck by lightning.

The store was hit about 11.15am, causing it to lose power to its tills.

With nothing working the store closed for around 45 minutes, while repairs were carried out.

It reopened around noon.
