Shoppers will be feeling hot, hot, hot on July 11 whatever the weather when they visit Redruth’s Wilkinson store and walk into a tropical paradise. Staff will be dressing up in loud shirts, grass skirts and holding a hula party in store to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West, Wilkinson’s charity of the year.
Staff from the stores in Redruth and also Plymouth are supporting the Precious Lives Appeal to build Little Harbour hospice in Porthpean.
Emma Lloyd, the charity’s head of fundraising for the South West, said: “What a colourful way for local Wilkinson staff to raise funds to help build a much needed local children’s hospice. I hope customers will support them, and our appeal, by popping in to say aloha.”
Toff Ahmed, regional manager for Wilkinson, said: “I’m sure our team members and customers will give generously to help us raise money for such an important cause as well as having lots of fun in our tropical paradise.”
On Saturday, July 25 Wilkinson stores will then be asking customers to take part in a butterfly trail competition for a chance to win prizes.
