British music legend Paul Weller will play a very special Eden Session on July 10.

Fans from all over Cornwall are expected to apply for tickets, including those from around the Falmouth area.

Tickets for Paul Weller’s Eden Session go on sale next Tuesday May 19 at 6pm priced at £35 each plus a £5 booking fee per ticket. To book, contact the Eden box office on 01726 811972 or at www.edensessions.com Paul Weller’s latest solo album 22 Dreams, released last year to widespread critical acclaim, hit number one in the UK album charts and helped him to the 2009 BRIT Award for Best Male Solo Artist, a title he also won in 1995 after the release of that year’s seminal album Stanley Road.

This special Eden Session is being staged in support of the Prince’s Rainforests Project (PRP) in association with EDF Energy. The concert is part of a broader programme of joint EDF Energy and Eden initiatives which are being launched this year to encourage collective action in the fight against climate change.

The Duke of Cornwall set up the PRP in 2007, in order to build awareness about the need to slow the rate of tropical deforestation to prevent catastrophic climate change. This gig will raise public awareness about the link between rainforests and climate change and encourage people to sign up to the PRP’s high-profile awareness campaign.

Peter Hampel, Eden’s creative director, said: “This concert is a really exciting addition to the 2009 Eden Sessions line-up and we are delighted to be drawing attention to the vital work of The Prince's Rainforests Project.”

There will be more to follow at Eden as well. Paul, veteran of The Jam, The Style Council and a solo career that spans 16 years, joins fellow headliners Kasabian, Razorlight, Oasis and The Kooks at the Eden Project this July.

The Eden Sessions are returning for their eighth year, having previously played host to the likes of Kaiser Chiefs, Muse, KT Tunstall, The Raconteurs, Vampire Weekend, The Verve, Amy Winehouse, Goldfrapp, Basement Jaxx, Keane and Editors.
