Penryn residents were kept awake by revellers playing loud music in the early hours of this morning (Sunday June 23).

Several residents living near the train station were woken up when it started at around 4.30am and continued playing for several hours.

One said that it was “unacceptable” for people to be playing such loud music so early in the morning.

Angela Laud, who lives in Alderwood Parc, was kept up by the party-goers’ sound system.

She said: “I woke up at half past four and could hear it all. I closed my bedroom window and could still hear it.

“At one point it stopped and I thought maybe someone’s asked them to stop the music, but then they started again.

“I think I would have done if I’d have known where it was coming from.”

Angela says that living near The Sidings student accommodation block, she often hears people coming home from town late at night.

She said: “That doesn’t bother me too much with the students when they have been on nights out. It’s usually them screaming and shouting before they go into their flats and it’s usually over quickly.

“But this was unacceptable.”

The music was also heard by residents in Mutton Row and near Trelawney Park.

Devon and Cornwall Police have been contacted for a comment.
