Cornish clothing brand Seasalt, based out of Falmouth, has vowed to give £30,000 this year to local charities.

Each of Seasalt’s 63 shops has nominated a charity to receive £500 and the team in the Falmouth shop has chosen to support the Flicka Foundation with their 2019 donation.

The shop team will also spend a day volunteering with The Flicka Foundation and two other charities, as well as donating its handmade window displays to schools and community groups.

With its shops spread nationwide, Seasalt is hoping to benefit multiple charities across the UK.

Founded by Mary Berryman in 1995, the Flicka Foundation’s sanctuary site now provides a safe home more than 100 donkeys and horses, all of which have been rescued from abuse, neglect and abandonment.

Deap Khambay, head of sustainability at Seasalt, said: “Community is immensely important to us at Seasalt, and I am extremely proud that everyone has embraced the opportunity to positively impact more communities than ever before.”

As part of their continued commitment to supporting their local communities, Seasalt also donates to the charities Hospital Rooms, Mylor Sailability and Cornwall Community Foundation’s C100 Club.

It continues to fund the Seasalt Leach Bursary at the world-renowned Leach Pottery and run UK-wide volunteering with all its employees.
