Falmouth School has announced its new head boy and girl.

Reuben Hesser and Abbie Burley will take up the roles with Hugo Arbones and Aimee Wandless as their deputees.

Abbie said: "I'm really excited to take on the role and work alongside such a great team. We have lots of plans and we're all looking forward to getting started and to make a difference around the school."

Reuben said: "It's an exciting time for the school and we have a strong team to develop our ideas."

They will be assisted by senior prefects Tegan Underwood, Jessie Goldsmith, Eleanor Hingston, Max Amos and Samuel Hammond as well as a wider prefect team.

The students faced a tough selection process, having to lead group discussions with year seven students to develop ideas and present daily assemblies before a formal interview in which they delivered their portfolios.

The group will be focusing on several key themes throughout their tenures, including student wellbeing, the environment and communication.

They have wasted no time in starting their roles and have already turned their attention to a project in which they are surveying the school's students.

Head of upper school Jem Wallis said: "“The applications for the roles were incredibly strong this year and we are very proud of all students who took part in the process. Our newly appointed student leadership team are fantastic positive role models for all of our students.

"They will help to ensure that student voice has a much greater impact on the school and its students as we move forward.”
