Mullion Cove Spa has announced the appointment of Hannah Martin to the position of spa manager in time for its grand opening in July.

Hannah comes to the job with extensive knowledge gained from Cornwall’s renowned Scarlet spa, Budock Vean and most recently the Falmouth Hotel, where she was the driving force behind the Richardson Hotels’ successful spa departments, from training in-house therapists to developing new on-trend treatment plans.

At the Mullion Cove Spa, she will bring together her commitment to using sustainable and eco-conscious product with her training in yoga, Reiki, Ayurvedic and holistic therapies to provide a complete choice of wellbeing treatments.

Hannah said: “I’m so looking forward to welcoming our first guests to the new spa. It’s really a dream job, providing me with the chance to combine my years of experience in wellness with an opportunity to start something very exciting from scratch."

The multi-million pound spa, which is on schedule for opening on July 8, will leave guests in no doubt they are in Cornwall. From the expansive views over the Atlantic to the use of locally produced spa products derived from the Lizard Peninsula, this new wellness centre has been designed to evoke the UK’s most southerly county at every turn.

The expertly designed space will offer a full range of facilities including indoor hydrotherapy infinity pool, sea-view steam rooms, saunas, salt laconicum, experience showers and fully equipped gym. Outside, decking will sweep around the edge of the building, leading to the hotel’s refurbished outdoor, newly heated swimming pool and more spaces to relax including a hot tub and outdoor seating area – all facing the Atlantic Ocean.

From its indoor relaxation areas, the sound of the sea washing against Mullion’s Harbour will be played.

Hannah’s newly designed spa menu will use products from two organic, sustainable companies: Made for Life Organics and VOYA, both with full Soil Association approval.

Every single product from Cornwall-based Made for Life Organics is made by hand in the county using herbs, flowers and oils from as close as quality will allow. They track the provenance of every ingredient and do not add any synthetic chemicals, including parabens.

Keeping the Atlantic connection, Ireland based VOYA products are made from hand-harvested wild seaweeds to create genuinely organic, seaweed-based products and spa treatments.

The spa menu offers treatments for individuals, couples, pre and post pregnancy, anti-ageing and wellbeing, including VOYA’s Organic Stimulating Seaweed Body Buff, using mineral-rich Bladderwrack seaweed; Made for Life’s Relax into Radiance treatment - a body exfoliation rich in lemongrass and calendula; and the spa’s Signature treatment, Mullion Ocean Essence, inspired by combining Japanese Shiatsu with Western body massage techniques.
