Bangers & Mash-Up is a small festival with a massive heart.

Our aim is to bring Cornish art and entertainment to Redruth for everyone to enjoy, at a cost everyone can afford.

With low ticket prices, quality locally sourced food and entertainment, at a price everyone can afford - tickets are only £5 a day (£15 for a weekender) promising genuine affordability by all.

Niddy, festival organiser, said: “It’s our first festival here and so we want to get the ethos right from the start. We are going to follow Glastonbury Festival’s example and be single-use plastic-free.

"If Glastonbury - ‘the largest Greenfield festival in the world’ can do it - so can we! We want you to bring your own pewter tankard or old festival cup with you. No glass or china please! We can supply a reusable cup which will cost 50p - you can use it all day, keep it and take it home."

Bangers & Mash-Up is aimed at everyone and will take place at United Downs Banger Track in St Day, Redruth July 19-21, with a free two-day art exhibition prior to the festival.

There will be loads going on all over the festival site, from a singing corner, a busk stop, to walkabout theatre. Not to mention a fantastic art exhibition displaying things that festival-goers have made.

We want to shine a light on talent and ignite passions. There’s going to be absolutely loads for everyone to enjoy and join in with.

There will also be free and diverse art workshops such as hot metal casting, chainsaw sculpting to up-cycling, as well as musical workshops.

Music

There will be live music, three confirmed headline acts are – 3 Daft Monkeys, Black Water County, Laid Blak.

There will be DJ’s, traditional Cornish singing - join in with all the old rousing Cornish songs with Red River Singers, Bagas Crowd and Heb Mar. Plus some fantastically talented local bands - The Eyelids, Shagrat, Half Kut, Hedluv & Passman, to name but a few.

Organisers are working with local producers to provide the best quality freshest ingredients at an affordable price for everyone, there will be a selection of delicious fayre on offer, jerk chicken, nachos, locally sourced sausages & burgers, yummy chips and more.

There will be a Friday mid-morning take over from 11am to 3pm, when the festival teams up with local care homes to get 1,000 older people, the Village People, along to the festival site for some good old time singing and entertainment. Free teas and coffees and a lovely free Cornish Cream Tea each.

The festival hosts are a bunch of passionate and experienced festival crew, having done Glastonbury and Boomtown to Shambala and Port Eliot.

They want to take all the best bits and bring them into one festival that is affordable by, and accessible to, all.

The festival will be one where everything is fair - quality locally sourced grub, brilliant entertainment, smashing art and fantastic free workshops that are fun and fulfilling not just space fillers.

It opens at 10am on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and closes by 11pm on those days.

On-site camping is not available and there is no sleeping overnight in vehicles or the car park. The nearest campsite is St Day Tourist Park, or you can check at pitchup.com.
