Lloyds bank in Helston has been forced to close for an unspecified amount of time due to damage to the building.

It is understood that the building in Market Place has been affected by external work being carried out by another company.

The closure is said to be temporary but no date has been given for when it will be back open.

A spokesperson for Lloyds said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused to customers during this time and will reopen the branch as soon as possible.

"In the meantime customers can continue to access their banking using our online and telephone services."
