A CRASH blocked a road being used as a diversion route on Thursday night.

The road was closed near Stithians Reservoir, close to Penmarth and Carnmenellis.

Drivers approaching the scene were being turned around.

It is not yet known how many vehicles were involved in the crash or whether anybody was injured, although it was reported that a car and a horse collided.

The horse was reported to be standing at the roadside and a vet was called.

The route has been busier than usual in the evenings this week due to the main A393 between Penryn and Redruth being closed overnight for roadworks.
