The Santa Series 2018 for Cornwall Hospice Care is in full swing for another season of festive themed fun.

The event, sponsored by Ann’s Cottage Surf Shops, took to the streets of Truro on Sunday and heads to Falmouth and Helston this weekend.

Starting at 1pm, with a festive warm-up just before at 12.45pm, participants will take to the streets of Falmouth dressed in a free Santa suit, before reaching the finish for a mince pie where they'll receive a finishing medal.

Sign up today and kick off Christmas with a cracker, whilst supporting your local adult hospices and all that the charity does for those with terminal illness across Cornwall.

The entry fee covers the cost of putting on this event and all runners are asked to raise just £20 in sponsorship, which will on average, fund an hour of nursing care in the hospices.

Entries for the Santa Run will be taken on the day – registration will open at 11.30am. Santa Suits can be collected on the day. All at Falmouth Methodist Church, Killigrew Street, Falmouth TR11 3PG.

You can decorate suits with lights, tinsel, deely-boppers and be entered into the prize for the best dressed. Also there will be prizes for best dressed dogs and buggies.

For Sunday's Helston run, registration will open at 12.30pm. Santa suits will be available for collection at Helston Bowling Club, The Monument, Coinagehall Street, Helston TR13 8ER.

Every year it costs over £5 million to provide the specialist care we offer to our in and out patients.

Only 20 per cent of this is funded through a contribution from Cornwall’s NHS Commissioners, in simple terms, the NHS contribution pays for 71 days of care each year.
