Once the judging was finished all the sponsors and supporters joined the festival for two hours of beer sampling. They also sampled some local nibbles which complemented the beer.

At 8pm the festival opened to the general public who could then enjoy the 252 beers available, of which there were 138 Cornish and 114 out-of-county.

There were 85 ciders with over 35 Cornish, 39 Cornish Gins, Cornish mead, wine and 20 Cornish Craft beers.

The evening entertainment was provided by Will Keating, from Falmouth, with his acoustic guitar.

On Friday morning the festival was opened by the Falmouth Marine band who had walked from The Moor to Events Square through town and of course they were joined by one and only Cornish Beauty Betty Stoggs.

They were supporting the RNLI, this year’s charity. Tutored tastings started at 1pm with Adam from Stable Falmouth and 1.30pm Pete from Driftwood Spars Brewery St Agnes.

The Press Gang from St Austell kicked off the music, followed by Bailey Tomlinson from St Ives later in the afternoon. Qwest provided a high energy party set throughout the evening with pop, soul, motown, funk, disco and rock.

The tutored tasting continued on Saturday with Tom from Haywoods Cider St Maby at 1pm, 1.30 was Simon from Padstow brewery Padstow and David from St Ives brewer St Ives at 2pm.

Craic Horse, who play Celtic jigs, and Darren Lester, from Newquay, entertained the festival goers throughout the day.

Adam Parfitt, a professional guitarist and session musician who tours internationally and is based in the South West, started the early evening session.

He has shared stages around the world with the likes of Jack Johnson, Band of Horses, Newton Faulkner, Jason Mraz, Jose Gonzalez, Fun Loving Criminals, Ben Howard and many more.

He was joined on stage by Mark ‘Foggy’ Foggett on bass and Steve Sudlow on drums to form Cyderfex. Cyderfex play festival anthems throughout the generations; from Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock to Oasis at Glastonbury.

Sonia Bunce, of CAMRA Kernow, said: "The festival was an undisputed success, with our move to Events Square hopefully sealing the future for the event.

"It was great to see lots of our regular festival goers and also new ones who joined us at the new venue. We can also celebrate 70 new members who signed up for CAMRA membership, a record for the branch."

On behalf of CAMRA Kernow, she thanked breweries, committee, volunteers, punters and sponsors for their support.
