George Pill Senior has confirmed that two of his sons licenses to conduct business from the Prince of Wales pier in Falmouth have not been renewed following a police report citing verbal abuse and threats.

He blamed the council for the decision, saying "they are a bunch of f***ing clowns," and claiming that no one from the council had been to the pier themselves to assess the situation.

George said that his sons Michael and Sam, who run Kernow Cruises and Fal Fishing Trips respectively, have not had their licenses to operate from the pier renewed.

Cornwall Council have confirmed that the harbours board refused a permit to ply for hire from the Prince of Wales Pier and Fish Strand Quay for the two businesses.

Cornwall Council's harbour board held a meeting last Thursday (June 7) to discuss businesses operating from the pier. They were presented with a police report that mentioned "a number of instances of verbal abuse, threats, intimidation and unreasonable behaviour" between members of a certain family.

John Pill, George Senior's brother, denied that there was any wrongdoing from family members at the pier after he heard about the police report.

He told the Packet at the time: "It is peace and quiet on the Prince of Wales Pier. The harbour master has got total respect.

"It's got nothing to do with us. We keep our heads down, we keep our noses clean."

A feud between certain family members is understood to have been going on for years. The police report submitted to the council said that evidence of crimes on the pier is lacking and is often "one word against the other."
