Penryn's mayor, Shelley Peters, has officially opened the town's Library Information Service which has been transferred to the town council from Cornwall Council as part of its devolution programme .
While the library remains in its home in St Thomas Street, the information service has moved from the council offices in Saracen House to the library building.
The move has centralised Penryn Town Council and Cornwall Council services and sees both councils now working together from one location.
The service is now open 9.30am-6.30pm on Mondays; from 9.30am-4.30pm, Tuesday to Thursday and from 9.30am until 4pm on Friday. It is closed on Saturday.
