A series of burglaries on the Lizard Peninsula over the course of three days this week has prompted police to appeal for help.

At Predannack, near Mullion, cash, jewellery and other items were stolen when a thief smashed a window to gain access to a property at some point between 12.30pm and 3pm on Tuesday.

That same day, at nearby Cury Cross Lanes, a window was again smashed and electronic games were stolen from a house, this time between 8am and 6.20pm.

There is a broader time frame for two more burglaries, one of which was at Gunwalloe, at some point between 8am on Monday and 12.30pm on Wednesday. A window was forced open and police say at this point it is unknown what items were stolen.

The final burglary was to a motorhome parked in the car park at Mill Lane, Porthleven. Between 5pm on Monday and 8.30am on Tuesday a door to the vehicle was forced open and it is believed items were again stolen, although police have also described these as “unknown.”

A police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward in connection with reports of burglaries which have taken place in the area.”

Anyone who may have seen something suspicious around the times of any of these incidents, has information about the person or people responsible, or who has CCTV cameras in these areas, is asked to email 101@dc.police.uk, or phone 101 quoting crime CR/087733/17.
