The 30th anniversary Martin Jennings Memorial Run will go ahead this Sunday.

The event, organised by David Saunby, had been planned to take place last weekend, but was called off after bad weather was forecast.

With generally fine weather predicted for this weekend, Mr Saunby has just announced that the run will go ahead on Sunday.

Up to 2,000 bikers are expected to take part in the run, which will be raising funds for Children's Hospice South West and Cornwall Cancer Care.

Riders will begin meeting from 8.30am at the new Eastern Park and Ride car park in Truro, before setting off at 10am.

For safety reasons the morning route will be kept secret, but the run will be coming down the A30, to Chiverton at approximately 2pm, before arriving at Beacon at 2.15pm for a 15 minute stop and a minute's silence, in memory of Martin Jennings and all other bikers that have died on the roads of Cornwall.

From there the route will continue via Troon, Helston, Rame, Longdowns, Treliever, the Penryn bypass. Then into Falmouth via Ponsharden, North Parade, Greenbank, High Street, Killigrew Street, Western Terrace, Melville Road, Castle Drive, Cliff Road, Penance Road, and Western Terrace, finishing at the Falmouth Recreation Ground at 3.45pm.
