The children from Flying Start Nursery in Penryn enjoyed a special day trip to Mabe recently when they visited the Flicka Foundation donkey sanctuary.
As part of the group's holiday club, staff took the whole nursery on a trip to the sanctuary where the children learnt about all the different donkeys and why they were there.
Among the animals they met was a big fluffy donkey called big Bertie, and a baby donkey who was only a couple of weeks old.
After meeting the animals, the children were allowed to have a go at grooming the donkeys and learnt about what they eat and how to look after them.
