A motorcyclist has been left with "life changing" injuries following a crash at Goonhilly Downs last night.

The man in his 40s suffered "multiple injuries" according to police and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital by air ambulance following the crash at 10.20pm.

His injuries were initially feared to be life threatening, with paramedics later updating this to life changing.

No one else was involved in the crash, which is thought to have taken place near to the Trelowarren Estate exit lodges.

That section of the main Helston to St Keverne was shut overnight for more than nine and a half hours, while collision investigators put together a full report, reopening just before 8am today.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the crash, or who saw the motorcyclist shortly before it happened, to come forward by calling 101, quoting log number 1045/17/7/17.
