Falmouth School's music department was recently invited to King Charles the Martyr Church to perform a lunchtime concert.

Students from the school have performed at the church on a number of occasions over the years and this time saw six pupils performing a number of items. Those showcasing their talents were year 13 student Anna Freeman, and year 12 students Abiah Wyatt, Ryan Lillie and Jordan Lanyon. They were joined by Lewis Naisby and Marcia Hammond from year ten.

The students performed a contrast of pieces, featuring Marcia singing I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables, and Make You Feel my Love by Adele. Lewis performed two Nocturnes by Chopin which showed immense skill and technical ability.

Abiah, Ryan and Jordan performed a number of different items both as a group and on their own. Abiah demonstrated her versatility by performing on guitar, piano and singing. Ryan performed a brilliant Jazz solo on saxophone, adding some great contrast to the concert.

Anna was also a great hit with the audience, as she performed a delightful piece called Angela with Abiah, as well as performing a piece on her own, which featured her playing guitar and singing.

The performance was well attended and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the concert with many positive comments. The money raised all went to charity, with one of the charities being the Cornwall Music Service Trust which supports the young musicians around our county.
