Not just any dream will do for a young theatre performer from Helston, who has just appeared on stage alongside an X-Factor winner and Britain's Got Talent runner up.

Tegen-Rose Clements dreams of a life in the theatre - and she's well on the way to achieving it, having just finished a run in the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat alongside Joe McElderry in the title role, in which Britain's Got Talent's Lucy Kay was the narrator.

The 12-year-old Helston Community College student was amongst a team of 64 members of the Stagecoach Truro performing arts school to take part in the touring production when it played in at the Hall for Cornwall for ten performances over five days.

Tegen-Rose took part in five out of the ten, including opening night.

She has been with Stagecoach since the age of four, after her mother Julia took her along to try to build up her confidence when starting school at Parc Eglos.

Julia said: "She's a July baby and was little and quite shy. It's gone the other way now! But she loves it."

This was the third production of Joseph that Tegen-Rose has been in the choir for, also performing at the same theatre in 2012 and 2014. She also took part in Evita in 2013.

Julia said of the most recent performances: "She loved it. The first time she did it she was a bit like a rabbit in the headlights; she found it a lot easier this time. The words don't change for Joseph, just the harmonies."

She added that the rest of the cast were "great" with the younger performers.

Back at school in year eight, Tegen-Rose is getting ready to choose subjects to continue next year - with drama and music firmly fixed on her timetable.

Her next production with Stagecoach will be Kidz 4 Cornwall in July, showcasing the talents of children all over the county from singers to gymnasts, also taking place at the Hall for Cornwall.
