Penryn Primary Academy turned its main hall into a celebration of creativity, as pupils competed against each other in their first ever Spring Show.

All of the children in the school took part in the event, which saw them making entries for a number of different categories.

One stall was devoted to robots made from tin foil, while another was for the best pasty.

Head of school James Hutchins was behind the event, who hopes that it will now become an annual tradition.

He said: "It's our first ever Spring Show and there have been lots of entries.

"It's a chance to get parents involved and there are 20 categories in total.

"The entries have been fantastic and its seen a great effort from everyone.

"It makes me proud to be part of the Penryn community.

"There's three winners from each category and they will get a Spring Show certificate, and every entrant gets a prize.

"The children have absolutely loved it and there has been a real buzz around the school this morning because of this."
