Visitors to Gyllyngvase Beach were greeted by piles of rubbish including glass bottles, empty beer cans and discarded barbecues after revellers failed to tidy up after themselves on Saturday night.
Around 25 people were congregated around two big fires on the beach, and are believed to be those responsible for leaving the vast majority of the rubbish.
There were other people on the beach having barbecues in the evening who also appear to have left waste behind, but not so much as the two large groups.
This has sparked concern that as the warmer weather returns to Falmouth more people will begin to litter on the beach, and local businesses are urging people to be responsible.
Mark Agnew, general manager at Gylly Beach Cafe, said: "There were quite a few people down having barbecues and there were two large groups of people having fires.
"We want people to enjoy the beach but people must be conscientious about what they leave behind.
"Falmouth thrives on its beach and seaside, we get people visiting the beach with their families and they are greeted by all this rubbish. It’s very irresponsible and people should try harder to clean up after themselves."
