Children at Alverton School in Penzance will be able to enjoy the benefits of a new classroom environment following the completion of work by Truro-based Building with Frames.

The firm was contracted by the school to replace an existing building with a new, turnkey classroom, which once manufactured from the Building with Frame’s base in Truro, was delivered, installed and completed within the six-week summer holiday period to minimise any term-time disruption.

Company director, Stephen Boyd, said: “It was a pleasure working with Alverton School to deliver a classroom that will leave a lasting legacy for many years to come. It’s energy efficient, fully insulated and has been designed with pupils in mind; they’ll not only be able to benefit from the warm classroom surrounds it creates, but also enjoy play time on the outside decking areas.”

Staff and children were able to return to their new classroom on the first day of term, with the building officially opened by the Minister of State for School Standards, Nick Gibb.

Headteacher Martin Higgs, said: “We’re delighted with the new classroom that Building with Frames constructed during the summer. It has been the subject of much discussion and admiration amongst the school community and is a great addition to our site.

“On a practical level I would like to add what a pleasure it has been to work with a company who have stuck to the deadlines set, and have put in such extra efforts to ensure that the tight deadlines were met enabling the room to be ready at the start of term. The communication and desire to accommodate our needs from the team, in particular from our dedicated project manager, has been first class.”
